Classic Chicken Salad
This classic homemade chicken salad recipe is creamy and delicious. It's the only recipe you'll need for BBQs, Easter or the 4th of July!

- 2 cups shredded chicken or leftover rotisserie
- ½ cup celery chopped
- ½ cup mayonnaise *Hellman's recommended
- ¼ cup sour cream fat free or full fat will work
- ¼ cup pecans roughly chopped
- 1 tbsp dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp lemon zest optional
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes optional, for extra spice
- 1 tbsp fresh dill
- bread, lettuce, crackers, or rolls for serving
Add all the ingredients to a large bowl and stir well to combine.
Refrigerate until ready to serve (at least 2 hours is best).
Serve with toast, crackers, as a sandwich, or add to a salad.
- Add some grapes or cranberries for a nice fresh flavor.
- If the salad mixture dries out, add a bit more mayo.
- Serve on croissants, bread or with crackers.
Storage:
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Freezing not recommended.
