thawing egg rolls before frying?

No. They don’t need to be thawed beforehand. If the egg rolls or spring rolls are frozen, the outsides will fry up the best.

Put them in the air fryer directly from the freezer and cook them. Egg rolls frozen in an air fryer are the simplest and best option.

FAQ

How to re-heat egg rolls

Reheating them in an air fryer is a cinch, and the results are just as tasty as the first time.

Should I pre-heat the air fryer?

Pre-heating the air fryer is a good idea. When cooking without pre-heating, you’ll need to increase the cooking time by roughly 3-4 minutes.

All air fryers are different, and some cook at a significantly higher temperature than others. What works best for your air fryer and the food you’re cooking will become clearer when your first batch is done. Basket-style air fryers were used to test these.

tips

  • Fill the basket/tray to the max, but the egg rolls should not be stacked. Keep them in a single layer.
  • Flip, turn or shake the basket halfway through the cooking time for even crispiness.
  • If necessary, cook in many batches to prevent crowding.
  • Make sure to use a cooking spray approved for air frying, or approved parchment paper.
  • In order to get the insides hot and cook evenly, start with a lower temperature and gradually raise the heat.

what to serve with egg rolls

I often serve egg rolls with rice, Bang Bang Chicken, Air Fryer Sesame Chicken, or Instant Pot Chicken Rice Soup. Egg rolls are also great served with stir-fry.
